Read this first – Sandbox app, use at your own risk
ScamLens is a sandbox (experimental) app. It is provided "as is" for informational and educational reference only. It is not a guarantee that any message, link, company or person is safe or fraudulent. You use ScamLens entirely at your own risk.
Do not rely solely on ScamLens to make financial, legal or sensitive personal decisions. If you suspect an unauthorised transaction, corporate identity theft or an active security breach, immediately contact your financial institution, law enforcement or an accredited cybersecurity advisor through their official, verified channels.
1. Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing or using ScamLens (the "App") or visiting this website, you agree to these Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
2. Nature of the App
ScamLens analyses text, photos and screenshots using on-device heuristics, a BERT-base neural transformer and Vision OCR to produce a risk score out of 100, warnings and educational content, including a glossary of 108 known fraud schemes. It is a sandbox app that may contain errors, change without notice, or be discontinued at any time.
3. Informational and educational purposes only
- Results, risk scores and recommendations are for informational and educational purposes only.
- They are not financial, legal, investment, security, law-enforcement or other professional advice.
- Automated detection is not infallible. The App may fail to identify novel or sophisticated threats (false negatives) and may flag legitimate content as suspicious (false positives).
- A low risk score does not mean content is safe. A high risk score does not prove content is fraudulent.
4. Use at your own risk
You are solely responsible for your decisions and actions, including clicking links, replying to messages, sharing personal information or sending money. You are responsible for independently verifying any message or sender through official, verified channels before acting.
5. Seek professional help
If you believe you have been, or are being, scammed, contact your bank or financial institution, local law enforcement, or an accredited cybersecurity advisor directly using official contact details you have independently verified – not details supplied in the suspicious message.
6. No warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, reliability, completeness, merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, availability and non-infringement.
7. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer and its affiliates are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or any loss of money, data, profits, reputation or opportunity, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the App, or from reliance on any result, score or recommendation. Nothing in these Terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including consumer guarantees that cannot be waived.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to use the App for unlawful purposes, to harass or defame others, to reverse engineer the App except where permitted by law, or to represent ScamLens results as an official determination of fraud.
9. Privacy
ScamLens is designed to process data locally on your device. See our Privacy Policy for details.
10. Intellectual property
The App, its content and branding are owned by the developer and licensed to you on a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable basis for personal use. Third-party names and trademarks mentioned (for example banks or authorities) belong to their respective owners and are referenced only for educational purposes.
11. Changes and termination
We may modify the App or these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes means you accept the updated Terms. We may suspend or discontinue the App at any time.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the developer is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, subject to any mandatory consumer protections in your place of residence.
